Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) assessments
A star rating system (out of ten) that rates the energy efficiency of a home on the basis of its design is known as Nationwide House Energy Rating System, in short NatHERS. The BCA mandates that new Class 1 houses and Class 2 apartments are to be assessed under the NatHERS.
NatHERS estimates a home’s potential heating and cooling energy use, thus helping to make Australian dwellings more comfortable, and further helping to save energy bills through smarter and efficient design choices with negligible construction cost.
The NatHERS rating depends on:
- The layout of the home
- The construction of its roof, walls, windows and floor
- The orientation of windows and shading to the sun’s path and local breezes
- How well the above parameters suit the local climate?
JV3 Energy Modeling
Ensuring maximum savings and minimum energy use, Green Analytics helps its clients with their projects to reach their full potential. The intent of JV3 Energy Modelling process is to prove that the “Proposed Building” will have a predicted annual energy performance equal to or more than that of a “Reference (DTS) Building”. JV3 Verification Method provides flexibility in design and allows the opportunity to concentrate on hot spots within the building, providing high-benefit, low-cost solutions. Kindly catch our consultants for further information about JV3 Energy Modelling.
BCA Section J Compliance Reporting
BCA Section J Report is an essential requirement of Class 2-9 building types. The basic purpose of a BCA Section J Assessment is the verification of the fact that the proposed building complies with relevant energy efficiency provisions of the BCA. To obtain a building permit or Construction Certificate (CC) throughout Australia, BCA Section J Report is required for all Class 2-9 building types. Not only the BCA Section J Report is required for new developments but also alterations and additions to the existing buildings also require a BCA Section J Report.
